Misfits Win 2025 Books Boss League Crown!

The Mistreated Misfits, your 2025 Books Boss League Champion! What a feeling! What a comeback! How did it happen?

Misfits Complete Absurd Comeback, Defeat Squatches, 155-147

An absolutely unthinkable comeback sealed what is Ben’s first championship. Going into Sunday, the Misfits were down by 100 points. Clawing their way back with help from Burrow (24), Diggs (18), McBride (15), Hall (20), and the Seattle defense (16), Ben gave himself a chance. 28 points later from Caleb Williams, Ben clinched his first ever League Title. One of the most dominant and consistent teams all season, it’s fitting the Misfits are raising the banner. What a way to avenge their championship loss back in 2023 to the Squatches. Well done and well earned!

Wow. Everything pointed to the Squatches raising their third championship banner with ease Saturday night. Opting to pick up and start Malik Willis (34), which might have been the move of the year… until Sunday came. Paired with a Derrick Henry EXPLOSION of 50 points, this would be hard to mess up right? If we include Brandon Aubrey (17), that’s three players combining for 101 points on this squad. Surely, you could fill a roster and win a championship right? Not so fast! The other seven starters scored a total of 46 points as the supporting cast is the storyline here. Ezra decided get cute and start Taysom Hill (0) over Brenton Strange (6). That alone would not have won the matchup, so no harm no foul. It was the defense that let him down!

Remember in last week’s article when Jack outbid Ezra for the Lions defense? The Lions defense ended up scoring eight points. Not stellar, but a solid performance for sure. Needing to pivot, the choice was the Packers defense. Terrible choice. The Packers defense scored -7 points, as the 15-points swing in defenses from the Lions to Packers was the difference between winning and losing. Jack’s bid may have just helped Ben win his first championship. A team that should be glad it made the championship despite all of the injuries sustained throughout the year, it is certainly a tough way to go out for the Squatches.

Other Matchup Quick Hitters

GWW held off the Thunder in the third place matchup to finish the year on a high note, winning 131-122. CMC (28) and Swift (20) led the way for GWW, while the Thunder had half the roster in single digits.

The Sandstorms earned the win over the Avalanche to claim seventh place and the choice of their first round selection in next year’s draft, winning 121-72. Shoutout Chase Brown (28) for the Sandstorms! The Avalanche however, had eight starters score less than ten.

HSG used a dominant Bijan performance (37) to knock off the Dawgs to win the ninth place matchup 126-94, which can only mean one thing.

The Prairie Dawgs for the second season in a row, have finished in last place. Hear that sizzle?

They can thank six starters for scoring 0, 2, 3, 5, 5, 8 on the week. That won’t get it done, even for last place.

On to the New Year!

With that, we have successfully completed the 12th season of the Books Boss League! Congrats everyone on a great and eventful season!

Watch out for the victory parade for the Misfits this week, with Finn leading the way!

Enjoy the New Year!

Cheers!
