Every year it feels like at least one person falls victim to the, “player declared inactive before you wake up for the 9:30 AM International game and you don’t have a chance to swap out a player” situation. Last week, that was Erk.
On to the recaps!
Misfits Continue Dominant Showing, Take Out Squatches 162-148
Talk about doing no wrong this season, the Misfits have put the league on notice. Scoring 135, 180, 163 and 162, this may be the most dominant stretch in league history. It’s just a well balanced attack from Mayfield (23), St. Brown (20), and Bijan (28) just to name a few of the starters. At 4-0, can anyone stop this team?
There’s always someone who starts clamoring for a league median. It was a valiant effort that came up short for Ezra. Hurts (25), Pickens (27), and Hampton (25) led the way. There was a chance for a comeback until Tyreek Hill was injured late Monday night. The positives? Lots of running back depth. The negatives? No receiver depth going forward.
GWW Explodes, Beats Thunder 182-135
Wow. Can we save some points for next week? Nearly doubling his 96-point output from last week, Galen could also do no wrong this week. I don’t have any official records, but this feels like the first time where all eight position players each contributed at least one touchdown. All-in-all, Galen’s team accounted for 13 touchdowns. 13!! An incredible performance from a team who needed a win after last week. We must ask ourselves, can it be sustained?
-6.75. Thank you Green Bay defense. Outside of Allen (29), Maye (27), Nacua (26), and Sutton (15), it just wasn’t enough to keep up with the explosion from GWW. The loss is the first of the year as this team falls to 3-1.
Piranhas Earn Win Against Prairie Dawgs, 157-127
Thank you Justin Fields (30), Bo Nix (29), and Devon Achane (17) for securing the win Monday night. Paired with 21 from Judkins and 20 from the Detroit defense, it was an encouraging week with lots of momentum carrying into next week. At least we hope.
It was a very average performance from the Dawgs. Six starters scored less than 12. The good news is Drake London (18) showed signs of life. The bad news is the Falcons have a bye next week.
HSG Wins Battle of Winless Teams over Sandstorms, 142-116
The Ashton Jeanty (34) breakout game was a welcomed sign for Tim as he earned his first win this season. Outside of Jordan Love (32), the rest of the roster was… well unimpressive. Tim can be thankful for Jeanty and Love or else he’d be looking at 0-4.
Instead, Logan is staring at 0-4. Bucky Irving (22) was the highlight for this team. Seven starters scored less than 13, including four starters in single digits. They traded for Jayden Daniels, Chase Brown and Tetairoa McMillan this past week. Hopefully that trade sees longer term value. But hey, at least they didn’t trade away Josh Jacobs… oh wait they did. Wait, it gets worse. Bucky Irving was seen walking in a boot today for an injured foot and Trey Benson just went on IR. This is not good at all.
Icecaps Survive Avalanche, 113-92
This matchup does not deserve a write up, neither team deserved to win. I will only write about James Cook (22), because he’s awesome. The bigger issue for this team is the injury to Lamar Jackson. Be thankful this team somehow won.
Don’t worry Erk, Brian Thomas did not in fact have a good day either. A hater of the International games, Erk was unable to change his lineup after a late Jaylen Warren scratch Sunday morning. Brian Thomas (7) would not have won but you know who would have? DK Metcalf (20). More bad news, Malik Nabers is out for the year with a torn ACL. When it rains it pours. Heads up Erk, there is another international game this upcoming Sunday!
Waiver Wire Update
Every week the term “league winner” is thrown around and becomes oversaturated with noisy statements. Week 1 it was $12 Keon Coleman. Week 3 it was $7 Cam Skattebo who was left on the bench. But now, there is a new proclamation this week.
“Woody Marks league winner gentleman.”
Well Ben, if you are going to spend a whopping $44 on Marks, you better be right. Let’s hope the Texans always play from ahead and always play the Titans every week.
Notable Bids
Woody Marks- $44 (Ben)
Rachaad White- $8 (Book)
Kendre Miller- $7 (Galen)
Surprisingly, Jack and Galen both submitted an equal $27 bid for Marks. The tough news is that it wasn’t a chance against the $44 bid.
On to Week 5!
Let’s hope Ben is on to something because as we enter week 5, his FAB budget remaining reminds me of this classic.

You do know there are 13 weeks left of the season right? Let’s hope your league winner does in fact pay off for your sake, Ben.
Cheers!
