“This is a wonderful day”
FOUR WEEKS TO GO IN THE FANTASY REGULAR SEASON! Just for reference, the trade deadline is November 30. Plan accordingly.
Some teams have already gotten in on the trading action last week including Logan, Erk, Book, Galen and Ben. We will see how those trades shake out for those teams.
It was good to be the manager of the Icecaps on Thursday night. Just once, it would be nice to not have to worry about fantasy football for the weekend and know that you will win. Jack knew after Thursday that he was going to win after getting over 100 points from Burrow, Chase and Henry. Hope you enjoyed the weekend!
Anthony Richardson is BACK! I don’t know what the Colts are doing as an organization, but it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood for Tropical Thunder! Wonderful actually!!
On to the recaps!
Icecaps cruise through Misfits 175-92
As previously mentioned, getting Burrow (41), Chase (48) and Henry (14) on Thursday night turned out to be the winning combination alone, as that trio of players ended up outscoring all of Ben’s team. We don’t even have to mention his other players on Sunday because he didn’t need them to earn his seventh win of the season. Again, the Icecaps have surely done enough to make the playoffs and make a deep run into the postseason, it’s just a matter of time.
Eight starters scored less than 11 points but as I mentioned before, this matchup was over on Thursday. No amount of same-game parlays could make Ben feel any better. However, nailing 16/18 of those same game parlays has to be good for something right? At 3-7, they are two games out of a playoff spot with four matchups left. It doesn’t get any easier with HSG on deck.
Squatches silence reigning champs Sandstorms 147-104
“They don’t make defending BBL Champions like they used to.” Funny, considering just last year this defending champion started 0-7. I wish I had something else to write about but I don’t. It’s Lamar Jackson (41) and Bijan Robinson (28) carrying the squad over and over, time and time again. Ezra even got 19 points from spot start Austin Ekeler in the flex. Somehow, this team keeps finding ways to win (the mark of a good football team). Not wanting to make trades out of spite to honor the commitment to the team he drafted in August, the Squatches have a chance to knock off the Icecaps for the second time this season.
There’s a lot of talking about respecting the reigning champion but is that actually feasible? At 4-6, it’s just…not very good. I’m not sure what to make of this team who consistently lives in 2023. Just a reminder, it’s 2024! Eight starters scored less than 13 points, including five in single digits. A critical, and I mean CRITICAL matchup awaits this weekend in the Piranhas.
Prairie Dawgs welcome back CMC, beat Avalanche 139-92
Don’t look now, this team is 5-5 AND getting CMC back into the lineup. Wilson (24), Purdy (28) and arguably waiver wire pickup of the year Chuba Hubbard (24) carried this team back to a .500 record at 5-5. While McCaffrey only had 12 points, it was a welcome sight for an injury-riddled season for the Dawgs. Are things looking up for Nick?
The week started off poorly after Dak Prescott got injured and did not get any better over the weekend. They traded away Drake London for Aaron Rodgers to fill in for Prescott, and Rodgers rewarded Erk with four points. It was a disastrous week with seven starters in single digits. The lone bright spot was the Eagles defense with 22. They play GWW this week, which may be closer than some may anticipate.
HSG keeps on rolling, take down GWW 143-112
Jalen Hurts (34), Joe Mixon (16) and Chase Brown (14) led the way for HSG in a balanced lineup which saw eight starters score over ten points. Is it time we consider HSG a contender for a championship? I think it would be safe to say it is but it seems like something is still missing from this team. Look for this team to bolster their team with a trade in the coming weeks. Otherwise with St. Brown getting a touchdown every week, Hurts stealing all of Barkley’s touchdowns inside the five yard line, Mixon finding a resurgence in Houston, Kupp getting healthy, Brown becoming a workhorse in Cincinnati and if Breece Hall can finagle his way into some big plays on a horrid Jets team, yeah this team might have it.
“My team is in shambles.” Here’s the good news, Kyler Murray can take the bye week to rest and rejuvenate because he will need to carry this team down the stretch. The bad news? Where do I begin? After beating the Icecaps three weeks ago, this team has dropped back-to-back matchups and are in the midst of a two-game losing skid. Outside of Murray (31), Taylor (14), Kittle (12) and newly acquired James Cook (16), it was horrible. $21 Cooper Rush scored in the negatives (-1.50) and normally automatic Falcons kicker Koo missed three field goals. In total, half the starters scored less than ten points. I don’t want to write this team off completely yet, as they have the pieces to compete but it’s just not very good right now. Their goal is to just make the playoffs and have Murray, Love, Taylor, Jones and Cook carry them to victory.
Thunder keep playoff hopes alive, beat Piranhas 128-109
There was one moment on Monday night where the Thunder held a seven point lead after Tua threw a touchdown to Hill at the one-yard line. That would be the closest the matchup would be as the Thunder pulled away late in the fourth quarter of the Rams-Dolphins game. In what seemed like a must win, the Thunder went wheeling and dealing, completing two trades to shake up the team. It appeared to have worked as they shipped out two separate packages of James Cook, Malik Nabers and Cade Otton to receive Jahmyr Gibbs, Tyrone Tracy Jr, and Travis Kelce. Finally breaking a three game losing streak, they will look to make it two wins against the Prairie Dawgs this weekend.
Tyreek Hill only scores touchdowns against the Thunder. Hill scored his second touchdown of the year (with his first coming against the Thunder in week 1). It wasn’t enough as the Piranhas only scored 109. Mark Andrews (14) started the week off right on Thursday but he proved to be the third highest scorer on the weekend behind Allen (20) and Conner (19). Otherwise, it was a bad week. Surprisingly, they are not out of the playoff picture yet and can still sneak their way in sitting at 3-7. As I mentioned in Logan’s write-up, this weekend is a huge opportunity for each of those teams to win. If the Sandstorms win, Jordan’s playoffs hopes are essentially over. But if Jordan wins? It’s a brand new ballgame.

Shoutout Galen for being concerned about my well-being and wanting to give me a break this week from writing an article! We’ll see if he’s still concerned for my well-being after he wins!
Cheers!
