Mike White Shines, Russ Ruins Thanksgiving Dinner and Josh Jacobs is him

“The Squatches will go as far as Josh [Jacobs] wants us to go”

Josh Jacobs is that guy. After looking like he would end the day with around 32 points, Jacobs rattled off an 86-yard TD run in overtime for a 14.6 point swing for the Squatches and proved to be deciding in the matchup totals. The win gave the Squatches their seventh win of the year, all but clinching their spot in the postseason.

HSG and the Piranhas clinched their playoff spots and will look to earn the first round byes in week 15. The race for the other spots are still up for grabs, mathematically of course. With two weeks to go, it appears the magic number will be eight wins. Get to eight wins and the playoffs are in your future.

Outlooks

HSG, 9-3

While they do have Jalen Hurts, HSG might be in trouble with the injury to Aaron Rodgers as their other quarterback options are slim. Is Sam Darnold about to make a start for this team? They put up over 150 and still have a great chance to bring home the title in December.

PIRANHAS, 9-3

Second in the standings, quarterback play is strong for them as well with Josh Allen. Scoring 148 points, they got a balanced attack which was refreshing considering their previous weeks. Barring a surprise, the Piranhas as well as HSG are slated for the first round byes.

MISFITS, 7-5

Losing a in devastating fashion again this season, the Misfits were victim to a stat correction late on Sunday night after seeing multiple lead changes in the fourth quarter of the Eagles-Packers game. The end result? A one point loss to HCTM. Based on their point totals, the playoffs are basically a given at this point.

HCTM, 7-5

Somehow this squad keeps pulling out wins and have all but clinched their spot in the playoffs. No one benefited more than Blake after the Christian Watson touchdown giving HCTM a chance to win. That chance was elevated after seeing a two point swing in stat corrections giving them the win. If they can get their eighth win, good things might just happen to this team.

SQUATCHES, 7-5

Josh Jacobs is that man. Putting up 46 points was exactly what Jack did not want to see but Jacobs did it anyway. It was a dominating effort otherwise, with all but two players scoring over 10 points. With the win, the Squatches have put themselves in prime position to make a playoff run especially with Jacobs on the roster. The Squatches will live and die by Jacobs.

ICECAPS, 6-6

Uh oh, is it time to panic? The Icecaps have dropped three straight and if that trend continues, this team isn’t making the postseason. They for one wished that the Raiders-Seahawks game hadn’t gone to overtime, but it did. The other bad news was that they put up 162 points and still lost. I guess it makes up for week 8 when they scored the second lowest points in the league, yet got a win. The Icecaps looked like a contender a month ago but now need a win to confirm their spot in the playoffs.

AVALANCHE, 5-7

What a terrible week. They had an opportunity to knock off the Thunder and get to six wins but did not. Barely making it past 100, Kyler Murray made his presence back into the lineup immediately with 30 points but that was the only plus. Half the roster scored five points or less in the uninspiring week. The Avalanche need to win out and the Icecaps need to lose out for a playoff appearance.

THUNDER, 5-7

MIKE WHITE. It’s shocking that the Thunder have made it to this point but they have quietly won two straight and are still in the hunt. The point differential will not help them at all, which is why they need to win out and the Icecaps need to lose out for even a remote chance at the playoffs. At this point in the year, the Thunder needed a spark, so who did they turn to? Mike White. White scored 31-points and was instrumental in the win this week, despite playing the second lowest scorer in the Avalanche. I for one hope Mike White is still the starter going forward.

GWW, 3-9

Not being able to catch a break (again), the year remains to be brutal. Scoring 149 points wasn’t enough this week because they ran into Jalen Hurts. Their eyes are set on week 15 in the first round of the consolation bracket.

SANDSTORMS, 2-10

Not much to see here, Russell Wilson is still bad and his cooking ruined thanksgiving dinner. Burned the turkey, overcooked the stuffing and sent out an underdone pumpkin pie. They avoided the sub 100 club by scoring 101. They too are set for the first round of the consolation bracket.
