We are almost approaching the halfway point of the fantasy football regular season! In the NFL, the Cardinals dominated again as did the Rams and Ravens while the Chargers came out flat. The Titans proved they belong in the conversation after winning a thriller on Monday night against the Bills. The Bills had a chance to win or tie but Josh Allen could not find his footing diving for a first down near the goal line, which turned the ball over on downs. Should have the Bills kicked the field goal to send to overtime? Who’s to say. Also, Jared Goff is bad at football.
On to the recaps!
Tundra Icecaps 131.96 – 125.01 Hurts so Good
Sweating it out late Monday night, the Icecaps held a nine-point lead going up against the Buffalo defense. Buffalo scored two and half points as the Icecaps slid by HSG. Matthew Stafford (33) and the Rams defense (23) outperformed their projection and were the highlights for this team. Also, kicker Daniel Carlson redeemed himself with a 12-point output this week and the Icecaps needed those kicker points to move to 5-1 on the year. Clearly hampered from the Russell Wilson injury, they were forced to start Davis Mills (6) who did not contribute much. DeVonte Booker (7), Tyler Higbee (4) and Javonte Williams (7) also contributed on the unimpressive end for this squad. But all those points no matter the values were critical in the win this week.
Only needing ten points from the Buffalo defense to earn a come from behind win on Monday night, Buffalo scored only two and half as Hurts so Good lost to the Icecaps. HSG thought they may have had the win after a late kick return touchdown from the Bills late in the fourth quarter, but it was called back due to a holding penalty that ultimately sealed the loss. Jalen Hurts (27), Teddy Bridgewater (24) and a playoff Lenny performance from regular season Leonard Fournette (26) made this matchup the closest of the week. Lower scorers on the week included Justin Jefferson (6), Tyler Lockett (4), and Nyheim Hines (2). They along with Philly Special are hurting at the running back position, as starters Chris Carson and Nick Chubb were both out this week forcing them to start Hines. It’s a tough loss for this team who drops to 3-3 on the year.
Everglade Squatches 132.80 – 121.77 GalensWinningWinners
After lighting the league on fire last week with 227 points, the Squatches scored 132 this week. Dak Prescott (32), Jonathan Taylor (29) and Pittsburgh defense (18) led the way with great outputs. Half the roster scored in single digits including DeVonta Smith (3), Marquise Brown (4) and Chase Claypool who was just running cardio on Sunday night against the Seahawks, gaining only two points. They also made a last second switch on Thursday night benching Antonio Brown (16) for the aforementioned DeVonta Smith, so we know how that worked out. This is the Squatches fourth straight win and they sit at 4-2 going into week 7.
GWW needed 30 points from Ryan Tannehill and Dawson Knox on Monday night. They combined for 18 and GWW lost by 11. Poor start/sit decisions plagued this team and prevented them from winning this week. It started on Thursday night when they cut kicker Harrison Butker and added Ryan Succop who proceeded to kick four extra points. Then they benched Robert Woods (9) for Tee Higgins (4) on Sunday morning while the largest discrepancy came at the quarterback position. Starter Ryan Tannehill scored just south of 13 points while Derek Carr on the bench accumulated 25 points. Just a couple more adjustments and we could have seen a different outcome. On the flip side, DeAndre Hopkins (17), Aaron Jones (18) and free agent pickup Darrell Williams (21) were the highlights for this team. GWW is 2-4.
Sahara Sandstorms 180.25 – 113.05 Tropical Thunder
The Sandstorms put up a league high 180 points in a win against the Thunder. Kyler Murray (34), Joe Burrow (29), Cooper Kupp (26), Darrell Henderson (23) and Najee Harris (19) made this week stress free for the Sandstorms. Eight players scored in double digits on the dominant roster and are 4-2 going into next week. Outside of the 120-point performance in week 4, the Sandstorms have put up consistently strong performances every single week. The Sandstorms have quickly become one of the better teams in the league this season.
Any chance the Thunder had of putting out a competent lineup this week was immediately disregarded by Jared Goff. Goff has combined for 14 fantasy points in the last two weeks after scoring eight this week and has not given the Thunder a remote chance of winning lately. Otherwise, half the starters scored single digits for this uninspiring roster. Then again, the Thunder could have played a perfect roster and still would have been nowhere close to beating the Sandstorms. It doesn’t get better in week 7, as half of their roster is on bye. Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Ezekiel Elliot, James Robinson and Tyler Bass all have byes next week. The Thunder are 3-3 right now but 3-4 is looking more realistic after next week.
Amazon Piranhas 152.98 – 135.25 Philly Special
Well, you can’t expect anything less from a team that is starting Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Dalvin Cook in their starting lineup, as the Piranhas got their second win on the year taking down Philly Special. Brady (22), Rodgers (28), Cook (22) CeeDee Lamb (28) and the Arizona defense (23) finally gave the Piranhas their first win since week 1. They still won’t have Christian McCaffrey anytime soon since he was placed on the IR, but a free Dalvin Cook should do the trick. They are 2-4 and trending upward.
Philly Special cannot catch a break with their running back room. After losing Saquon Barkley last week to injury, they won’t have Kareem Hunt either as a calf injury on Sunday will take him out a few weeks. Patrick Mahomes (27) and Kirk Cousins (34) tried to carry Philly Special, but it was not enough. DK Metcalf (6) and Devin Singletary (5) were the low scorers on the roster. They also benched Adam Thielen who scored 20 points. Philly Special is 4-2 going into week 7.
All I do is Winston 146.55 – 109.56 Hipple’s Heroes
After scoring over 190 last week, Winston responded with another strong 146 this week. If they had any concern going into Monday night being down 50 points, they should not have been. On Monday night Josh Allen (34), Derrick Henry (34) and Emmanuel Sanders (10) quickly put the Heroes in the dust. Joe Mixon also had a great game scoring 22 points and the Indianapolis defense scored 17. Winston once again rolled out Daniel Jones and got a similar result of four points. They also had three other players score less than four points as Terry McLaurin, Mike Evans and Graham Gano combined for a little over eight points on the week. Winston sits at 2-4 this season.
Another terrible week for the Heroes. Scoring a league low 109 points on the back of Damien Harris (17), all other starters were unimpressive. Sam Darnold (17) and Taylor Heinicke (11) set the tone from the quarterback position on the day. Kicker Chris Boswell scored the third highest points with 13. They are 1-5.
Week 7 Matchups
Philly Special 4-2 vs. Everglade Squatches 4-2
GalensWinningWinners 2-4 vs. All I do is Winston 2-4
Tropical Thunder 3-3 vs. Tundra Icecaps 5-1

Hurts so Good 3-3 vs. Hipple’s Heroes 1-5
Around the League
The Everglade Squatches made a head scratching decision late Monday night when they dropped Justin Fields who was then immediately added by the Icecaps. Here’s some quotes directly from Ezra Gorman talking about adding Geno Smith and dropping Justin Fields.
“I literally closed out of the app. Not being salty but I didn’t even finish the transaction, I don’t get what happened. I honestly meant to keep Fields as well but accidently processed the transaction”
Alright then.
Cheers!
