Raise the Banner! Tundra Icecaps claim first BBL Title

The Tundra Icecaps won their first Books Boss League Title this past weekend, beating Wentz upon a Time 199.50-139.57. The Icecaps started off with a bang on Christmas Day when Alvin Kamara rattled off 55 points, and never looked back. They otherwise got a balanced attack from the rest of their starters, all of which scored double digits. 21 points from Jonathan Taylor with a combined 28 points from Calvin Ridley and Dionte Johnson helped the Icecaps score over 199 points.

This is the Icecaps first Books Boss League Title in franchise history and a banner will be hung in the rafters to commemorate the win. All banners can be seen in the Champions link under the BBL tab.

Other News Around the League

The third-place game fell short of expectations (points wise) as GWW beat the Everglade Squatches 117-106. The matchup was filled with missed opportunities, as 11 out of the 20 combined starters for both teams failed to score double digits. Specifically, the Squatches opted to start the Texans defense (-3.5) instead of the Bills defense (13.5), which proved to be costly for them.

In the Consolation Bracket, the Sandstorms beat the Amazon Piranhas 144-96 to claim seventh place in the BBL.

In the last place game, Fresh Prince of Helaire scored 187 points to beat the lowly Prairie Dawgz 187-133. The Prairie Dawgz finished with one of the worst records in history at 2-11 during the regular season (2-13 overall).

Closing Thoughts

Congrats once again to the Tundra Icecaps for the well-deserved Championship! A great season was had by all and we are looking forward to the 2021 season!

For one final time in 2020,

Cheers!
