Week 2 Preview

And just like that, we’re one week into the NFL season! The highest scorer of week 1 goes to Philly Special who came in with a score of 179.22 pts. On the other end of the spectrum came the Prairie Dawgz, who turned in an embarrassing 97.02 pts.

Read below for a preview of the week 2 match-ups while also featuring highlights of last weeks results.

Tropical Thunder vs. Tundra Icecaps

The only match-up of 1-0 teams on the week. Tropical Thunder came out of week 1 with a win but did not have much of a challenge as they faced the aforementioned Prairie Dawgz. Scoring 155.15 pts, the Thunder were led by Josh Jacobs and Josh Allen, and look to count on them again going up against the Icecaps. They have also looked to the waiver wire this week after two starters last week combined for 4.10 pts (Kerryon Johnson & Chris Herndon). They will need to improve upon that this week if they plan to beat the Icecaps.

The Icecaps put together a wonderful week, scoring the second most points at 171.38. Led by Kyler Murray and Calvin Ridley, the Icecaps have assembled a strong roster and look to go 2-0 this week when they face the Thunder. Projected for the most points this week (158.83), the Icecaps will once again lean on Kyler Murray, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Ridley, and Alvin Kamara.

Sahara Sandstorms vs. Amazon Piranhas

The Sahara Sandstorms had a tough week 1 match-up in Wentz upon a Time. Scoring 155.61 pts, it was not enough for the 158.53 pts of their opponent. They did set an impressive roster, as five of their starters scored over 19 points including Matt Ryan, Garoppolo, Smith-Schuster, Cook and David Johnson. They have a tough battle against the Piranhas this week to even up their record to 1-1.

The Piranhas are coming off a great performance against the Squatches. With the exception of his kicker, the Piranhas lowest scoring player tallied 11.60 pts which was Tyreek Hill for reference. Also, of note, the Piranhas started their most optimal lineup week 1, an impressive feat in of itself. Cam Newton and Chris Carson look to lead the way again this week. They will look to go 2-0 after this week.

Philly Special vs. Fresh Prince of Helaire

Wow, what a week from Philly Special. Scoring a league high 179.22, they put the league on notice. Similar to the Piranhas, with the exception of two points from their kicker, their lowest scorer was 11.60 points from Stefon Diggs. Led by Elliot, Jones and Gordon at running back, Philly Special has a great foundation of players and will look to go 2-0 after this week.

Formally known as Camburger Helper, Fresh Prince of Helaire came up short week 1. Taken down by the Icecaps, they put together a relatively good week scoring 145.87 pts. They can really only blame themselves, because what really hurt them was the Aaron Rodgers bench play, as 41.21 pts were left on the bench. Ouch. In response, Rodgers is now inserted into the lineup as of this press release. They need to get back on track this week to avoid going 0-2.

GalensWinningWinners vs. Everglade Squatches

A battle of 0-1 teams. GalensWinningWinners turned in a 120.47-point performance with the help of Deshaun Watson and Deandre Hopkins. However, they ran into the buzz saw of Philly Special and really had no chance of winning last week. Key waiver wire pickups this week include Nyheim Hines, Sammy Watkins, and Dallas Goedert. They started Ingram II, Engram, and Beckham Jr. for a combined 7.5 pts last week. They will look to improve upon this mark to avoid going 0-2.

The Squatches have their work cut out for them this week as they also try to avoid an 0-2 start. Scoring 133.88 on the backs of McCaffrey and Mahomes, they were kept in check by the Piranhas. This team was also dealt an injury blow as Le’veon Bell was placed on IR earlier this week, but honestly that could be a good thing for this team. Bell has plagued this franchise even dating back to last season. They will also look to get more than a combined 10.90 pts from their wide receivers 1 & 2. Who will get a win this week?

Prairie Dawgz vs. Wentz upon a Time

Well the Dawgz put together a train wreck of a week last week. Historically strong week 1 performances, this team flopped hard last week. With the exception of Ben Roethlisberger, no player scored over 13.21 pts for this team. It would also help if you didn’t start a player declared out before the game started, which is exactly what the Prairie Dawgz did, starting injured wide receiver Cortland Sutton. They basically need a bounce back week from their entire roster.

Carried by Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson for a win last week, Wentz upon a Time heavily invested in quarterbacks, and it shows in their lack of depth at other positions. With a Miles Sanders injury, they were forced to start Devin Singletary and Corey Clement as their running backs 1 & 2. Plus, with the news of Michael Thomas out for a couple weeks, this team suddenly got really thin. They need to enjoy that win while they can, because they could be hard to come by this season. They will look to go 2-0 after this week though.
